Wedding photo for Franklin T. Pomeroy and Sophia Isadora Morris

Franklin Thomas Pomeroy and Sophia Isadora (Dora) Morris were married on 28 Mar 1893 in Mesa, Maricopa County, Arizona.  They traveled to Logan, Cache County, Utah to be “sealed” in the Logan Temple on 19 Apr 1893.  (Dora’s obituary says they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple, but their marriage certificate and temple records verify the Mesa wedding and Logan sealing.)

This photograph was taken by C.R. Savage of Salt Lake City, Utah.  I have posted a scan of the original (sepia) and a black and white edited version with enhanced contrast, and without the “C.R. Savage, Salt Lake City” at the bottom.

Franklin T. Pomeroy and Sophia Isadora Morris marriage license, 23 Mar 1893

This is the license portion of a marriage license/certificate document that measures 16″ x 10.5″.  The license comprises the top half of the document and the marriage certificate comprises the bottom half.  (See previous posts)  The document was originally folded in three places, and on the back side of the license and certificate is the information identifying the contracting parties, witnesses, officiator, and filing information. The only fold line that is still intact is the one in the middle, whereas at the other two the document has become detached.  It features a seal from the Probate Court of Maricopa County, Territory of Arizona.  These are scans of the original document in possession of Dayna Jacobs.
